Merging of Classes

At times, the University may need to combine specified classes or groups of students that were initially divided into separate sections into a single class. This could happen for various reasons, such as managing class sizes, optimizing the use of teachers and classrooms, or adjusting to changes in student enrollment.

This module will guide you through the steps and considerations involved in combining specified classes into one, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and effective process.

Required Permissions​

  • Merging of Classes - This permission allows users to access the module and to combine multiple sections or classes into a single class.

How to Access the Module?​

To access the module, make sure you have the Merging of Classes permission. If it doesn’t appear in your portal, request access from your System Administrator.

To access the module go to Registrar > Transactions > Merging of Classes

Click the module tab to redirect to Merging of Classes page.

How to Use the Module?​

In this section, users will be guided through the process of using the Merging of Classes module effectively. The goal is to provide clear, step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth and successful merging of classes. By following the steps outlined below, users will be able to combine student groups, manage schedules, and optimize resources in an organized and efficient way. Make sure to carefully follow each step to avoid errors and ensure that the process runs smoothly.

STEP 1. On Merging of Classes page, the Subject Code of the classes to be merged should be entered.

STEP 2. Select the sections to be merged. The first section that will be indicated will serve as the master class and other classes will not be offered.

STEP 3. Click the button to save the update. After the submission, the system will display a message of successful merging of classes.

INFORMATION

  • The merged classes that has been disabled are still available in Class Schedule module.

  • Students who have been registered or enrolled in the class affected will be moved to the merged class.

  • The schedule of the Master Class will be followed for the newly merged class.
